Genevieve Taylor’s passion for music and flare for fashion have always been a part of her. She recalls dressing up in her mother’s fashionable outfits and high heels, walking down her grand staircase and pretending to wow the audience. She loved listening to music – wearing out the rewind button trying to learn all the songs. The desire to worship burned within her, even at a young age, as her siblings would play church together. Each would participate in their area of expertise, for Genevieve it was to lead worship.
Having her new baby daughter was supposed to be one of the most beautiful times in her life, but that is when tragedy struck. The Genevieve that everyone knew and loved was lost in the black abyss of confusion and chaos; diagnosed with an extreme case of post partum psychosis. Genevieve was hospitalized for months to follow. It seemed unreal to everyone who knew her that a mighty woman of God could be taken down by such an unknown and terrifying disease.
